Part 3 of a three part series by Gail Birks, President/CEO of CMA Enterprise Incorporated
July 23, 2021
Everyone claims to be "aware" when it comes to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). But what does it really mean to be awake? And how do you maintain sustainable success as the definition changes?... and it will.
Here are a few things for you to consider...
Expressed commitment to the cultures and sub-cultures that comprise your company and client base
Make DEI an integral part of the overall practices of your standard operations (internally and externally)
DEI should become an integral part of a "zero tolerance" philosophy
Exhibit DEI in your outreach and business development activities showing it to be a normal part of your operations.
Establish accountability for all levels with leadership "walking the talk."
If this is too much for you to absorb, ask yourself this question... "If we are the defendant in a EEOC Complaint or Lawsuit, will we be able to recover from the damage to our image and employees' reputations?
Just asking for a friend.
